Call for Abstracts

SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED! The deadline to submit your abstract to the conference is now July 14th!

The Cambridge University Brazilian Society and the Oxford Brazilian Society invite researchers and graduate students to submit abstracts of their research to the VIII Oxbridge Conference on Brazilian Studies.

The Oxbridge Conference on Brazilian Studies is a multi-disciplinary event that brings together scholars from natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts to discuss topics concerning Brazil. It is organised by the Cambridge University Brazilian Society and counts with an increasing number of researchers from the UK and beyond.

In its eighth edition, the Conference will take place at the Sidgwick Site Campus, University of Cambridge, on October 4-5th, 2019.

If you would like to present a paper, please send an email to with name, institutional affiliation, title of paper, and a 300-word abstract in English. We emphasise that the Conference is also open to researchers from STEM disciplines if the project is related to Brazil. Presentations will last for 15 minutes with another 10 minutes for Q&A.

The deadline for submitting a proposal is July 14th, 2019.
